About the 'SAMVAAD'

Samvaad is a state-level community engagement and documentation journey, designed to explore the people, places, and cultural fabric of Gujarat. It is part of the larger Sahaj Shiksha mission to stay connected with real communities, learn from the ground up, and identify new opportunities for meaningful collaboration.

In this tour, our team is visiting diverse regions to listen, observe, and understand the lived experiences of people across rural and semi-urban Gujarat.

Phase One Focus: Saurashtra & Kutch Region

The first phase of Samvaad focuses on the Saurashtra and Kutch region — areas known for their historical depth, cultural richness, and strong community life.

• Morbi
• Surendranagar
• Rajkot
• Jamnagar
• Botad

📍 Total Talukas Covered: 46 talukas across these districts

✅ Our journey includes visits to schools, colleges, heritage sites, small businesses, and local homes. We’re engaging with students, educators, artisans, business owners, and villagers to understand their stories, aspirations, and challenges.

Field Activities in Phase One

• Community Conversations – Candid interactions with local residents
• School & College Visits – Observing learning environments and engaging with youth
• Cultural Site Visits – Documenting historical and spiritual landmarks
• Entrepreneurial Discussions – Meeting with rural and small-town business owners
• Media Documentation – Capturing visuals, interviews, and regional narratives
• Social Media Sharing – Publishing daily stories and reels through digital platforms

Sahaj Shiksha Project Integration

Throughout the journey, we are also drawing on the strengths of Sahaj Shiksha’s core projects. These tools help us connect, start meaningful discussions, and understand the context of each place we visit:

• 🧒 Mom’s Magic – Sharing ideas about early childhood learning with local parents and teachers
• 🎥 Pagdandi – Introducing students to future-ready skills and digital awareness
• 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Vyapar – Listening to the stories of local entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals
• 📢 Samvaad Media – Capturing and curating inspiring content from the field
• ❤️ Sahaj Parivaar – Building a circle of well-wishers, contributors, and community supporters

These project elements are used organically — as part of our learning process — not as formal presentations or programs. The aim is to better understand how ideas around education, livelihood, and awareness take shape in different regions.
